About US

Have you ever wanted to experience the calming embrace of a gentle cow? While it might not be a common desire, hugging a cow can be profoundly transformative. That’s why I’m launching a fundraising campaign to turn this dream into reality by bringing a therapeutic cow into our community, where anyone in need can find comfort and solace.

Cow therapy has shown incredible benefits for many individuals. These magnificent animals offer unconditional love and acceptance, providing a safe haven for those seeking solace. By hugging or petting a cow, endorphins are released, promoting relaxation and a sense of well-being. Moreover, cows don’t judge; they simply offer companionship and understanding, making them perfect confidants for anyone, regardless of their struggles.

Our goal is to create a non-profit space where people can connect with our therapy cow. By offering to share our cow with you, we aim to make this unique form of therapy accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial situation. We believe that everyone deserves the healing power of animal-assisted therapy, and we are inviting the community to join us in making this vision a reality.

Engaging with a cow provides a sense of purpose and calm, especially during overwhelming moments. Brushing their fur or simply spending time together offers a productive and soothing outlet, reducing aggression and providing relief. I am deeply passionate about bringing the joy of animal-assisted therapy to those in need. However, making this dream come true requires significant financial support. To achieve our goal, I am turning to crowdfunding platforms like IndieGoGo, where generous supporters can contribute to our cause. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to purchasing our therapeutic cow and creating a haven for individuals seeking comfort and connection.

We do not need much. We have the land. What we must do, however, is replat our land, rezone it, build a fence, and construct a shelter for the cow. Lastly, we need to get the cow. We are prepared to travel across the USA to bring back a cow from a nurturing farm. Luckily for us, we live in Kansas! We have more cows per square mile than Texas. Our cow will come from a place of love, although we are looking into rescues too, such as Nugget and Tilly. In our dream cow space, we would like to build a heated barn, a wheelchair-accessible seating area with shading, and a cow wash station.

My name is Danielle Maple. My experience with farm animals begins with me having been born on a goat farm, to years of volunteering on The Carlson Farm with sheep, goats, and donkeys. My own pet donkey is trained as a livestock guardian and is well-loved by neighbors. She’s prone to hollering in joy when she sees her favorite people.

While I have never owned a cow, I am locally known as “The Cow Girl” due to my passion for cows. A day does not go by where I do not talk about cows. Often, my elderly dog and I go on a drive simply to look at the cows within a half mile of our home. My love of cows has rubbed off on my elderly dog. Now she tends to squeal in excitement every time she sees cows. Her eyesight is going, leading her to squeal at hay bales in the distance, believing they are cows, and I always tell her that she’s right, they’re adorable. I cannot tell you enough how much I love and feel compassion for cows. Temple Grandin, my hero, known as the hero to cows, responded to my letter about my dream of Hug A Moo. This meant so much to me. I cannot express enough the feelings inside me, the passion to make this dream come true.

Together, let’s make the dream of hugging a moo cow a reality for all those who seek its comforting embrace.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Danielle Maple
